Control
Perform duties to inspect and analyze routine
samples submitted for testing to ensure
compliance with specifications, company
procedures and policies and regulatory
requirements. Analyze non-routine samples and
assist other departments in resolving problems.
Participate in project teams as required. Assist
QC Supervisor in training of other Chemists and
Technicians as required. Follow all SOP, cGMP
and lab safety procedures. Perform other related
tasks as assigned by the area supervisor.
Analyze and document the testing of •Raw
materials, including water testing •In-process
products •Finished products •Stability samples
•Samples submitted by R&D, Marketing, Sales,
Consumer Relations, Technical Operations, and
other departments. •Perform testing to validate
laboratory instruments •Perform and Document
Laboratory Investigation for Out of
Specification Results. •Knowledge of Basic Good
Laboratory Practices and Safety. Maintain and
assure compliance to current GMP, OSHA, FDA, DEA,
and all other agency regulations as applicable
•Analyze non-routine samples and assist other
departments in resolving problems. •Assist in
the troubleshooting of equipment as necessary.
•Assist in development, modification or
validation of analytical methods as necessary.
•Participate in project teams to represent the
QC Department. •Maintain and calibrate label
equipment and make minor repairs as necessary.
•Prepare and maintain reagents and standards.
•Keep glassware and laboratory equipment clean
and organized. •Review notebooks and other
documentation •Assist in the releasing of
products •Prepare testing and protocols and
reports. •Write, review, and revise SOPs.
•Assist and train other Chemists and
Technicians. •Perform other related tasks as
assigned by the area supervisor.
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or a related
science. Four to six years of experience in an
analytical laboratory setting, using HPLCs, GCs,
ICP-OES, ICP-MS, UV-Vis, Titrator, etc. HARD
SKILLS •100% proficiency in Analytical and
instrumentation (HPLC, GC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, etc.)
processes. •cGMP, OSHA, FDA, GLP, DEA, and
company policies •Job Specific Safety Training •
Advanced Mathematics, including conversions,
statistics and percentages •Software
applications, i.e. MS Office, LIMS, Data
acquisition systems SOFT SKILLS •Effective
