Chemist II, Methods Development/Validation
Performs tasks related to the development, validation, and troubleshooting of new and existing test methods. Assists/Mentors Method Validation Chemists I as needed. •Develop, troubleshoot and validate new test methods. •Prepares validation and testing protocols and reports •Writes, reviews and revises Test Procedures and SOPs. •Trains Chemists and Technicians, as applicable, on new procedures. •Transfers methods to other Leiner facilities so that methods can be used interchangeably. •Assists/Mentors Method Validation Chemists I as needed. •Assists other Chemists and Technicians as necessary. •Performs routine laboratory maintenance tasks, including but not limited to calibration and minor repair of equipment as necessary, lab cleaning and organization, and disposal of chemical wastes. •Prepares and maintains regents and standards, and reviews notebooks and other documentation as required.


Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science, required. Minimum of three to five years method validation experience in an analytical laboratory setting required. Proficient with Microsoft Office. Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot table, statistical formulas, etc.), preferred. HARD SKILLS •Full proficiency in Analytical and instrumentation (HPLC, GC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, etc.) processes. •cGMP, OSHA, FDA, DEA and company policies •Job Specific Safety Training •Advanced Mathematics, including conversions, statistics and percentages •Software applications, MS Office, LIMS, and data acquisition systems.
